Rev. Travis Lee Slaten

Funeral for the Rev. Travis Lee Slaten, 52, of Danville was Friday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove First Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Rev. Slaten died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in Huntsville. He was born Oct. 27, 1952, in Morgan County to Eloise Slaten. He was the assistant pastor at Powell's Chapel. Rev. Slaten was a respected member of the community, a devoted husband and father, and was loved by all lives he touched. He was self-employed as an electrician at Slaten's Electric and Handyman Service. He was preceded in death by a son, Mack Potts; and a sister, Tina Beard.
He is survived by his wife, Flossie Dunn Slaten of Danville; one daughter, Cassie Slaten of Danville; his mother, Eloise Slaten of Danville; five brothers, Mitchell Beard of Falkville, Sidney Beard of Flint, Charles Beard of Decatur, Jackie Cranfill of Falkville and Jason Slaten of Danville; and one sister, Jean Johnson of Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
