Garden tour a great success
The Hartselle Beautification Association hosted a Garden Tour on Sat., May 14.
The Tour consisted of five homes, Dale and Gayle Strider, Doyle and Faye Walker, Mike and Mary Nell Black, Micheal and Cindi Clark, Thomas and Donna Scott and one business, Sonoco (Baker) Division, featuring a Japanese garden.
There were hot dogs, drinks and entertainment and some shopping in Earth Park. You could purchase some great deals from Wal-Mart such as pots for plants, porch rockers, swings and much more. Shoppers could also take advantage of gardening, advice and purchase cuttings, bulbs, plants, from other gardeners.
This event would not have been possible without the volunteers, sponsors, visitors, and citizens of Hartselle. Thank you to our Mayor of Hartselle and his wife, Dwight &Jenny Tankersley for volunteering and taking time out on Saturday to work for HBA.
Other volunteers HBA would like to recognize are as follow: Brad Bole, Nancy Phelps, Susan Hines, Freda Thompson, Fate and Linda Webster, Cindi Clark, Vicki Oehmen, Jenny Tankersley, Mike and Diana Sparkman and Peggy Russell. Without these generous people this fundraiser for Earth Park would not have been possible.
Performing in the Earth Park gazebo during the tour were some local talented performers: Joe and Susan Sims with Folk Music/Dulcimer, Broadway of the South…(young performers of Hartselle), Johnny Whitley &Company, Chelsea Hale, The Singing Commodores, a (barbershop quartet) and Susan Hines.
Thank you to our sponsors, Dari-Delite, Larry's Signs, Colonial Bread, Pepsi, Frito-Lay Wal-Mart, C&L Wood Products, Doug Moss of Moss Audio, United Screen Printing, Mac McAnnally of L&M Lawn Services and last but not least The City of Hartselle ( Jeff Johnson, Jeremy Griffith, Rita Lee, Bryon Turney, Renee Shadden and Mayor Dwight Tankersley for your help with the tour).
