Funeral for Cecil Leo Plemons, 84, of Hartselle was Sunday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vandon Windsor officiating.
A military graveside service was held at Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Plemons died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born July 6, 1920, in Morgan County to Claude Plemons and Novie Ethel Grantland Plemons. He was a Methodist. He was born and lived in the Union-Antioch community in Morgan County. He had lived with his niece, Brenda Young in Hartselle for the past three years. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Howard Blankenship.
He is survived by his brother, W. L. "Louis" Plemons, and his wife, Earleen, of Hartselle; one sister, Frances Hamilton and her husband, Fred, of Decatur; four nieces, Brenda Young and Shirley Riddle, both of Hartselle, Claudia Posey of Decatur and Valerie Leader of Helena; three nephews, John Plemons and Tommy Blankenship, both of Hartselle, and Anthony Plemons of Montgomery; seven great-nieces; and three great-nephews.
Pallbearers were Steven Riddle, Michael Riddle, Tommy Blankenship, Hollis Grantland, Bobby Scott, Gary Posey and John Plemons.
