Orriel Solley Quinn

Funeral for Orriel Solley Quinn, 81, of Columbus, Miss., was Friday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church near Columbus with Bro. Jeff James officiating and Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus directing.
Burial was in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery near Columbus.
Mrs. Quinn died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. She was born Oct. 24, 1923, in West Virginia to James Luther and Zella Fultz Solley, Sr. Mrs. Quinn was a graduate of Auburn University, a charter member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Ridge and remained very active until they moved to Columbus, Miss. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Columbus for nearly 20 years. She was an accomplished cook that made great pecan pies. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was greatly loved by family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers James, Billy, Bobby, and Kenneth Solley.
She is survived by her husband, Charles T. Quinn of Columbus, Miss.; one daughter, Fran Quinn Elan and husband Mike of Decatur; three sons, Chuck Quinn and wife Linda of Butler, Jeff Quinn and wife, Dorcas of Birmingham and Mike Quinn and wife Laura of Columbus, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Buddy Shelton, Terry Williamson, Frank Goodman, Jimmy Cole, Terry Lile, Johnny Bufkin, Gary Shelton and Al Wise.
Honorary pallbearers were Bertha Smith's WMU group at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Mrs. Cobb's Senior Women's Sunday School Class at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Mt. Vernon Road, Columbus, Miss. 39702.
