Betty Earle Gurley Tarpley

Funeral for Betty Earle Gurley Tarpley, 72, of Somerville was Wednesday, March 9, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Harlon Hood officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Music was by Dale Windsor and Jeff Stinson.
Burial was in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Tarpley died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1932, in Morgan County to John Earl Gurley and Mable Inez Oden Gurley. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was retired as owner and partner of B. P. Tarpley General Merchandise in Falkville, secretary for the U.S. Army Missile Command and secretary for North East-Morgan Water Board.
She is survived by her husband, B. P. "Bill" Tarpley of Somerville; Mike Tarpley of Falkville; one daughter, Susan Tarpley Lovell of Decatur; one brother, Joel Gurley of Somerville; and three grandchildren, Heath Lovell, Casey Lovell and Jade Tarpley.
Pallbearers were Robert Summerford, Eric Summer-ford, Hank Summerford, Tom Summerford, Phillip Gurley and Heath Lovell.
Honorary pallbearers were Blake Bowden and John Summerford.
