Feb. 24, 1955 -Morgan County actor Dean Jones will soon appear on the screen in "Handle with Care." His Hartselle relatives have heard that his next project will be the movie, "Tea and Sympathy," with Deborah Kerr.
Feb. 24, 1955 -Nancy Jo Burleson has been selected queen of the MCHS FFA chapter.
Feb. 25, 1955 -The second birthday of little Betty Ware Martin was celebrated this afternoon with an "overall party" given by the honoree's mother, Mrs. James S. Martin.
Feb. 25, 1955-His fellow-students at MCHS say that Bud Gibson has told them he is "resolving to forget women-for a while anyway."
Feb. 26, 1955 -Noojin Walker, former star Falkville Blue Devils quarterback and now an Alabama Crimson Tider, is looking forward to the upcoming spring training under Coach J. B. "Ears" Whitworth. He seems to be recovered from the knee injury he suffered in the Alabama high school all star game a couple of years ago and hopes to earn a starting spot in the upcoming fall season.
Feb. 27, 1955 -H. E. Orr is being promoted to industrial and public relations manager of the Decatur plant of Wolverine Tube division of Calumet and Hecla, Inc. Orr has been with Wolverine Tube since October 7, 1949.
Feb. 28, 1955 -Allen Baggett, local hillbilly and cowboy entertainer, has been designated as booking agent for the Louven Brothers, top-flight entertainers and recording artists from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
March 1, 1955 -Today was Sim F. Orr's last day as city clerk after having served 17 years in this post. He will now work on a half-time basis in his old profession of pharmacy at People's Drugs.
March 2 1955 -Charles Smith was honorably discharged from the Navy February 16 and is now home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smith, Sr. He expects to attend college later but for the present is working at Groover Grocery.
March 2, 1955 -Virginia Ann Johnson and Frank Stewart were home from API, Auburn, over the weekend.
