Tony Lee Tucker

A private graveside service for Tony Lee Tucker, 44, of Decatur was held at Macedonia Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Lawson and Rev. Jeri D. Hunt officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Mr. Tucker was interred with Masonic Honors.
Mr. Tucker died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at his residence. He was born Dec. 23, 1960, in Decatur to Marvin Leon Tucker and Sarah Pearl Sparkman Tucker. Mr. Tucker was a lifelong resident of Decatur. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where he served as a lector. Mr. Tucker was a 1979 honors graduate of West Morgan High School. He served from 1990 until the present as film crew for the West Morgan High School football team. He served from 1993 until the present as the announcer for "The Mighty West Morgan Marching Rebel Band." Mr. Tucker served as competition chairman of the West Morgan Band's Dixie Pride Marching Classic Annual Band Competition from its organization in 1998 until 2003. He continued to serve as the announcer for the competition. Mr. Tucker was a 1982 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Calhoun Community College and was a member of the Sigma Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He was a member of Decatur's Rising Sun Lodge No. 29 of Free and Accepted Masons, the Decatur Chapter No. 38 of Royal Arch Masons, the Decatur Council No. 81 of Royal and Select Master Masons and Decatur's DeMolay Commandery No. 14 of Knights Templar and the Huntsville Scottish Rite Bodies of 32nd Degree Masons. He was serving as the Lodge's historian for the year 2004 to 2005. Mr. Tucker had been employed by Shelton Funeral Home, since 1982 where he currently served as assistant manager.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Kimberly Lawson Tucker; his daughter, Paige Tucker of Decatur; his parents, Marvin and Sarah Tucker of Decatur; and his grandparents, Grady and Bell Tucker of Moulton.
Memorials may be made to the West Morgan High School Band or the West Morgan High School Varsity Football Team, 261 South Greenway Drive, Trinity, AL 35673.
