Rev. Paul W. "Buddy" Holmes

Funeral for Rev. Paul W. "Buddy" Holmes, 70, of Hartselle was Saturday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at Falkville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lovelace officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the Falkville City Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Rev. Holmes died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at his residence. He was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Morgan County to George Henry Holmes and Cora Lee Akins Holmes. He was a member of the Falkville First Baptist Church and was a retired Southern Baptist Minister. He served as pastor at East Highland Baptist Church, Union Grove Baptist Church, Pates Chapel Baptist Church and Southwest Baptist Church until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Brown Holmes; his parents; and two brothers, David Eugene Holmes and Charles Lee Holmes.
He is survived by two daughters, Valerie Sue Holmes of Decatur and Vicki Denise Price of Hartselle; two brothers, Freddie Roy Holmes Sr. of Houston and George Wallace "Joe" Holmes of Decatur; one sister, Patricia Ann Holmes Coots of Falkville; two grandchildren, Kelly Price and Kayla Price.
Pallbearers were Daniel Hunter, Todd Coots, Freddie Roy Holmes Jr., Tony Holmes, Greg Pridmore and Michael Holmes.
