E. V. 'Plug' White

Funeral for E. V. "Plug" White, 73, of Decatur was Sunday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Eric Mattox and Todd Sharp officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. White died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Morgan County to James Christopher White Sr. and Virginia McCutcheon White. He was a farmer. He served as Morgan County District 1 Commissioner from 1970 to 1998. He loved Morgan County and Cave Springs Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member. He served as a deacon, and was church treasurer for 38 years. Mr. White served as president of the Alabama County Commissioners Association for one term. He was a member and board member of the Alabama Farmers Association, the Morgan County Cattle-men's Association and the Decatur Jaycees. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J. C. White Jr. and T. J. White; and two sisters, Christine Henderson and Bonnie Weinman.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Collier White of Decatur; two daughters, Renee Goree and husband Dell and Alodie Brown and husband, Terry, all of Somerville; three sons, Vann White of Priceville, Jim White and wife Julie of Decatur and Irvin White and wife Shelia of Priceville; three sisters, Marjorie White of Decatur, Sue Timberlake and husband Flip of Decatur and Bit Miller and husband Dave of Chattanooga; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Cave Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
