Armstrong, Whatley wed
Amy Leigh Armstrong of Jackson, Miss. and William Daniel Whatley of Hartselle were wed Aug. 7, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, Miss. with Father Michael O'Brien officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Rhonda Armstrong of Jackson, Miss. The groom is the son of Todd and Patty Whatley of Hartselle.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless gown of candlelight satin with a fitted bodice and a chapel length embroidered train.
Her elbow length illusion veil cascaded from a pearl beaded tiara. Her bouquet featured roses in varying shades of white.
Erin Armstrong of Jackson, Miss., sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridal attendants were Natalie Dickard and Molly Herrington, both of Jackson, Miss., Miriam Strong of Canton, Miss., and Kelly Whatley of Hartselle, sister of the groom. They wore two-piece formal gowns of crimson taffeta and carried simple bouquets of red and golden roses.
Samantha Drake of Hartselle was flower girl. She wore a formal gown of white satin resembling the bride's gown.
The groom's father was best man.
Groomsmen were Brett Aldridge of Pensacola, Fla., Chip Hoover of Senatobia, Miss., Clay Whatley and Patrick Whatley, both of Hartselle, brothers of the groom.
Ushers were Travis Downey of Shreveport, La., Matthew Kirk and Parke McManis, both of Madison, Miss., Drew Muirhead of Nashville, Tenn., and Brad Plunkett of Jackson, Miss.
Music was provided by pianist Gail Madden of Jackson, Miss., and soloists Erin Armstrong and Kris Staudt of Hartselle.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Colonial Country Club.
The bride's table featured a four tiered fresh strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting embellished with fresh red roses.
The groom's cake was a chocolate single layer replica of the Mississippi State logo.
Suzan Cox was wedding director. Claire Drinkard attended the bride's table and Tamra Medders attended the groom's table.
Amy Ashby of Vicksburg, Miss. attended the bride's book.
The couple honeymooned in Perdido Key, Fla. They reside in Starkville, Miss.
A rehearsal party hosted by the groom's parents was held Aug. 6 at the Steam Room Grille.
A bride's luncheon was held at the home of Danny and Krista Donahue in Madison, Miss.
