Rev. B. B. Isley Sr.

Funeral for Rev. B. B. Isley Sr., 94, of Hartselle was Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond and Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Rev. Isley died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1909, in Morgan County to Walter Branson Isley and Lizzie Breedlove Isley. He graduated from Howard College in Birmingham and earned a master's degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He served as a Baptist minister from 1945 to 1974 and served as interim pastor for more than 30 churches in North Alabama from 1974 to 2000.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie W. Isley; one brother, Gladston Isley; and five sisters, Ruby Wallace, Lillie Mae Payne, Vera Blackburn, Mary Nuby and Flora Aycock.
He is survived by his wife, Lurline Minor Isley of Hartselle; two sons, Walter A. Isley and wife Carolyn of Knoxville, Tenn. and Branson B. Isley Jr. and wife Linda of Pell City; one daughter, Nina I. Sinclair and husband Roy of Gulfport, Miss.; one stepdaughter, Sandra Smith and husband Fred of Hartselle; six grandchildren, Kim IsleyBeard and husband Bill, Leigh Manly, Kelli Manly, Drew Isley and wife Diana, Joshua Isley and Aaron Isley; four step grandchildren, Leah Turner and husband Gary, Steven Smith, Deanna Harper, Emily Branch and husband Ty; four great grandchildren, Kaitlin Isley Beard, Spencer Isley, Mason Isley and William Turner.
Pallbearers were Drew Isley, Aaron Isley, Joshua Isley, Steven Smith, Gary Turner and Glenn Houts.
All ministers attending were honorary pallbearers.
