Danville improves to 15-5

The Danville Lady Hawks took home second place in the Moulton Invitational softball tournament. Then they whipped Brewer and Addison in regular season games before traveling to Heritage Park in Cullman for the Wallace State tourney. In Cullman, Danville posted a fourth-place finish.
Danville 13, West Point 2
The Lady Hawks whipped the Lady Warriors behind the pitching of Kristen Sparkman. Sparkman ran her record to 4-0 this season.
At the plate, Tonya Howard had two doubles and a single while Katie James had two doubles. Charleston Wilson collected two triples and a double while Kristy Roberts collected three hits including a double. Kristen Sparkman had a double and a single while Emily Templeton and Haley Hensley had a single each.
Addison 5, Danville 2
Katie James took the loss on the mound for the Lady Hawks. Kristy Roberts had two singles while Tonya Howard collected a double. Casey Sparkman, Katie James and Charleston Wilson each collected a single.
Danville 12, Hackleburg 2
Kristen Sparkman improved to 5-0 on the year pitching five innings for the win.
Haley Henley led the offense with two singles while Katie James and Kristy Roberts added one single each. Tonya Howard collected the only extra-base hit for Danville with a double.
Danville 5, Priceville 2
Kristy Roberts led the Danville offense with two singles and a home run. Casey Sparkman singled three times while Kristen Sparkman had two singles. Tonya Howard and Haley Hensley also had singles for the Lady Hawks.
Howard picked up the win on the mound.
Danville 3, Addison 2
Katie James picked up the win pitching with a complete game as Danville whipped Addison in the semi-finals and avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Bulldogs.
Kristy Roberts had a double and a single while James added two singles. Tonya Howard, Casey Sparkman, Emily Templeton and Haley Hensley all had a single.
Lawrence County 11, Danville 1
In the finals of the tourney championship Katie James took the loss for Danville and Kristy Roberts had two hits including her second home run of the season.
Danville 11, Brewer 1
Katie James won with a complete game on the mound to improve to 5-4. The Hawks were running as Tonya Howard stole two bases while Kristy Roberts and Charleston Wilson each stole one.
Roberts had a two-RBI double while Howard had two hits and a RBI. James had a single and a double with one RBI. Wilson had a single and a double. Emily Templeton had a single and a double with a RBI. Bethany Evans had two singles while Mallory Alred and Kayla Voketz each had one RBI.
Danville 10, Addison 4
Kristen Sparkman improved to 6-0 on the season with a five-inning scoreless preformance on the hill. Katie James pitched the final inning in relief.
Kristy Roberts stole two bases while Mallory Alred stole one.
Roberts had a single and a three-run triple. Tonya Howard collected two singles and a RBI. Casey Sparkman had a two-run single while Charleston Wilson pounded out two singles. Haley Hensley had a single and a RBI while Emily Templeton had a groundout RBI. Bethany Evans had a single for the Lady Hawks.
