Charles Junior Nix

Funeral for Charles Junior Nix, 71, of Athens, was Tuesday, March 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Edmondson officiating.
A military graveside service was held at Center Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Nix died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Athens Limestone Hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Cullman County to Charles Joel Nix and Velma Lawrence Nix. He was retired from CSX Railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Nix.
He is survived by his wife, Parline Hammack Nix of Athens; one son, Charles "Chuck" Nix and wife Vickie of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Christina Turner and Polly Coker and husband Ricky, all of Decatur; two brothers, Herman Nix and wife Edna and Bill Nix and wife, June, all of Ider; two sisters, Freda Lucy and husband Huey of Lawrence County and Jerrie Busey and husband Roy of Ortega, Texas; seven grandchildren, Sarah Turner, Erica and Ashley Vest, April Hale, Josh Turner, Steven Nix and Kris Hale; and two great grandchildren, Ashly Hale and Tyler Hale.
