Tigers win four, lose two

The Hartselle Tiger baseball team won four games last week highlighted by Andrew Reeves throwing a complete game no-hitter at Daphne. The Tigers swept Brewer at home on Wednesday to improve to 7-2 on the season. Hartselle then traveled to the Mobile area on Friday to take on Robertsdale. The Golden Bears stopped the Tigers winning streak at seven games with a 9-2 win. The Tigers rebounded and whipped Fairhope later in the day. On Saturday morning, Hartselle whipped Daphne 5-0 with Reeves throwing his no-hit gem. Later on Saturday, the Tigers traveled to Escambia, Fla., and lost to close out the road trip.
Hartselle 13, Brewer 3
Chris Kohlenberg, Seth Watson and Brian Ellis each scored twice and drove in two runs to power the Tiger offense. Ja'Cote Ward scored three times from his lead off position in the batting order. Ward and Nick Bates stole a base for the Tigers.
Brandon Wallace picked up the win throwing two innings of shutout relief. He improved his record to 3-1 this year. Heath Tapscott started and allowed two runs, walking four and striking out four batters.
Matt Anderson took the loss for the Patriots. Samuel Mason was 3-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI for Brewer. Christian Region went 2-for-4 and scored another Patriot run.
Hartselle 3, Brewer 2
Zack Andrews won for the third time this year as he threw two innings of no-hit ball for the Tigers. Andrews stuck out five batters while starter Andrew Reeves struck out nine in five innings. Reeves allowed two runs on only one hit. Hunter Brasher had the lone RBI for Hartselle, the two other Tiger runs were un-earned.
Samuel Mason was 1-for-3 with a RBI and a run scored for Brewer. Wesley Cooper took the loss throwing a complete game and striking out eight Hartselle batters.
Robertsdale 9, Hartselle 2
The Tigers seven-game win streak came to an end with the loss. Brandon Wallace was the losing pitcher for Hartselle.
Hunter Brasher had a double and scored a run for the Tigers while Chris Wiley was 2-for-3 with a double.
Hartselle 9 Fairhope 5
Zack Andrews improved to 4-0 with the complete game win as Hartselle improved to 8-3 on the season.
Ja'Cote Ward went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs while Chris Wiley was 2-for-3 and Nick Bates was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Sam Ferguson was had a 2 RBI double.
Hartselle 5, Daphne 0
Andrew Reeves proved too much for the Daphne hitters with a complete game no-hitter. He is now 1-0 on the year having thrown 14 innings and allowing only one earned run this season. Reeves hit two batters and stuck out nine during the Tiger win.
All nine Hartselle batters collected one hit, Craig Womack drove in two with a two-run double. Nick Bates, David Cameron and Seth Watson added RBIs for the Tigers. The win improved the Hartselle Record to 9-3.
Escambia 14, Hartselle 0
The Tigers failed to collect a hit as they lost in four innings in Escambia, Fla.
Seth Watson took the loss and is 0-1 on the year. Hartselle is now 9-4 overall.
