Melvin Hubert Maples

Funeral for Melvin H. Maples, 93, of Somerville was Sunday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at Somerville Church of God with the Rev. P. J. Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.
Mr. Maples died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, in Decatur. He was born Feb. 16, 1910, in Morgan County to Charles Maples and Lee Johnson Maples. He was a retired machine operator. He was a member of Somerville Church of God. Mr. Maples was preceded in death by his wife Alma Allen Maples.
He is survived by four sons, Bobby Maples and Charles Maples, both of Somerville, Ray Maples of Huntsville, and Ferrell Maples of Decatur; two daughters, Janice Maples and Joyce Maples, both of Decatur; one brother, Robert Maples of Somerville; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were nephews.
