Jerry M. 'Shorty' Knighten Jr.

Funeral for Jerry M. "Shorty" Knighten Jr., 69, of Somerville was Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church with the Revs. Katherine Perkins and Vandon Windsor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Knighten died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Morgan County to Jerry Knighten Sr. and Martha Zoner Leeth Knighten. He worked at Big Bob Gibson's as a cook. He attended Antioch United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Knighten of Somerville; two sons, Donnie Knighten and Danny Knighten, both of Union Grove; two brothters, Paul Knighten of Cullman and R. Q. Knighten of Georgia; two sisters, Chestine Lewis of Texas and Beulah Terry of Town Creek; and three grandchildren, Justin Knighten, Brittany Knighten and Casey Knighten.
Pallbearers were Jerry Grantland, Gary Grantland, Ronald Grantland, Herbie Willis, Skeggs Gilchrist and A. D. Johnson.
