William Robert Winkles

Funeral for William Robert Winkles, 61, of Falkville will be Thursday (today), Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. at Falkville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Weldon officiating.
Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Winkles died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born October 20, 1942, to Buster Winkles and Claudia Alldredge Winkles. He was a member of Falkville United Methodist Church. He was a former owner of Winkles Shell and Wrecker Service and a sales representative for a local company. He was an auctioneer, former mayor and council member of Falkville for three years and was appointed by Gov. George Wallace. Mr. Winkles worked at Lone Wolf Trailer Company as manager and Acme Truck Sales as sales manager. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #396 and Rocket City Scottish Rite. He was a 1961 of Falkville High School.
He is survived by his wife, Nina Partlow Winkles of Falkville; one son, William Kenneth and wife JoAnn Winkles of Falkville; his daughter Kelly and her husband John Grandstaff of Falkville; four sisters, Jean McCaig and Polly Holmes, both of Falkville; Dr. Sarah Light of Hartselle and Gayle O'Hara of Lake Parsippany, NJ; five grandchildren, Jim Smith, Ryley Smith, Logan Smith, Chad Winkles and Chase Winkles; step grandchildren, John Grandstaff, Jason Grandstaff, Jack Grandstaff and Jeff Grandstaff; and one great grandchild, Hagen Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jim Smith, Chad Winkles, Dusty Vinzant, Robbie Vinzant, William Partlow, Jay Partlow, Anthony Partlow and Benjamin Partlow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Waymon Appleton, Audrey Davenport, Jim Grissom, Charles Rogers, Gary Murphy and Bill Wood.
