Richard Mosley too much for Danville; West Morgan rolls 28-7

DANVILLE – They're improving, little by little.
Danville head coach Joey Burch said he wasn't pleased with Friday night's 28-7 loss to West Morgan, but after falling to the Rebels 56-6 last season, steps are being made in the right direction.
"We are not satisfied with this loss by any means," Burch said, whose Hawks are 1-2 on the season. "But we're making strides in the right direction to win some ball games. We just got beat by a pretty good football team (Friday) night."
Richard Mosley was the thorn in Danville's side all night. Mosley, who rushed for 171 yards, scored on runs of 7, 15 and 53 yards in the contest. Zach Kirby scored the other West Morgan touchdown on a 51-yard jaunt.
But the game was not out of hand early. The Hawks pulled within 14-7 on Will Edmonson's 69-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter. Edmonson led the Danville ground game with 97 yards on 10 carries.
As a team, West Morgan out-gained Danville 346-165.
This Friday night, Danville travels to Lamar County for another Class 3A, Region 7 contest.
"We knew coming in we had three tough region games in a row," Burch said. "I'll tell you this, we're going in to every week working hard, and trying to win."
