John David 'J.D.' Pickens

Funeral for John David "J.D." Pickens, 30, of Hartselle was Saturday, Aug. 16, at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilson and the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Pickens died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Aug. 8, 1973, in Morgan County to Bob and Sandra Fitzgerald Pickens. He was a graduate of Hartselle High School where he was a member of the Key Club and manager for the football team. He also attended Calhoun Junior College. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Lily Opal Pickens and Ralph and Alice Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Sandra Fitzgerald Pickens; and one brother, Paul Allen Pickens of Hartselle.
Pallbearers were Drew Blankenship, Blake Wright, Chad Smith, Ronnie Pickens, Mark Ursic, Heath Howard and Mack Fitzgerald.
Memorials may be made to the UAB Dept. of Pathology, 1530 Third Ave. South, John Whitaker Building, Suite 404, Birmingham, AL 35294-0500.
