Weddings and Engagements

Kendrick, Stephenson exchange vows
Erin Kathryn Kendrick of Birmingham and Scott Logan Stephenson of Hartselle were married May 31, 2003 at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
The Rev. Dr. Andrew Wolfe and the Rev. Steve Malone officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dianne and Mike Kendrick of Birmingham. The groom is the son of Lou Ann and Doug Stephenson.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a handmade strapless gown of silk satin with a sweep train.
Her dress and elbow-length veil were made by Shirley Self of Birmingham. Her bouquet featured a hand-tied mixture of Virginia roses, white peonies, white stock and fresh mint leaves.
The altar was adorned with early summer flowers and the pews with handmade markers, both arranged by Ethel Anders, cousin of the bride.
Brooke Shannon Kendrick of Birmingham was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Lee Stephenson of Hartselle, Reeves Woods, Kelly Purcell Dorough, and Hillary Stegall Gamble, all of Birmingham, Stephanie Ruth Kelly of Atlanta, and Scarlett Michelle Singleton of Killen.
The bride's attendant wore cornflower blue silk shantung sleeveless tops and ballerina length skirts, also made by Shirley Self.
Their bouquets featured hand-tied white peonies and strawberries arranged by the bride and her twin sister.
John Reid Garrett of Birmingham was ring bearer.
Doug Stephenson, father of the groom, was best man.
Groomsmen were Dustin Michael Garnett and Marty Shane Garnett, both of Hartselle, Rainer Edwards Kendrick of Birmingham, Brian Sherman Kirby of Lanett, Neyland Daniel Lipham of Knoxville, Tenn., and Charles Steven Smith of Decatur.
Brad Hallmark Parsons of Decatur was an usher.
Carroll Lane Parsons of Decatur read a scripture selection during the ceremony.
Music was provided by Janet Nelson of Knoxville, Tenn., Susie Stephenson of Hartselle, and Layla Plunkett of Birmingham.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at B&A Warehouse in Birmingham.
The bride's table featured a white butter cream iced cake piped in blue and displaying the couple's new initials. The cake was made by Barbara Sullivan of Alabaster.
The groom's table featured a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with chocolate icing and a chocolate fountain served with assorted fruits for dipping.
The couple honeymooned in Peter Island, British Virgin Islands. They will reside in Statesboro, Ga.

Breeding, Cox exchange vows
Danielle Elaine Breeding of Somerville and Nicholas Dale Cox of Somerville were married in an outdoor ceremony May 31 at 10 a.m. in Charleston, S.C.
Mr. Richard M. Bennett officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Troy and Debbie Breeding of Somerville. The groom is the son of Dale and Debbie Cox of Somerville.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a formal gown of ivory Duchess satin and silk chiffon designed with a scooped neckline and edged with clusters of seed pearls. The mock two-piece gown featured a flowing poet's sleeve of chiffon.
The soft skirt of chiffon was floor-length and swept to a poet's train.
Her veil was Japanese chiffon accented by a crystal headpiece.
Her bouquet featured red rose buds and English ivy.
Dawn Smith of Madison was matron of honor.
Dale Cox, father of the groom, was best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Days Inn of Goose Creek, S.C.
The couple honeymooned in Charleston, S.C. They will reside in Goose Creek, S.C.

Smith, Coleman to wed Aug. 16
Michael Lynn Lawrence and Nancy Jane Lawrence and Phillip Smith announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Paige Smith, to Caleb Andrew Coleman, son of Jerry and Norma Coleman, all of Falkville.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School and attends Calhoun Community College. She is employed by American Family Mortgage. She is the granddaughter of Charlie Murphy and the late Fred Murphy, Dean Smith and the late William Smith, all of Falkville.
The groom-elect is a 1997 graduate of Falkville High School and attends Wallace State Community College. He is employed by Valley Budweiser. He is the grandson of Jack and Lue Del Coleman of Tulsa, Okla., and the late Andrew and Lemma West of Falkville.
The wedding will be held Aug. 16 at First United Methodist Church in Falkville.
Lambert, Sims to wed Aug. 16
Mary L. Hughes of Cullman announces the engagement of her daughter, Tina Gail Lambert, to Mark Lee Sims, son of Mrs. Ann B. Sims of Hartselle and the late Dr. Raymond "Mac" Sims.
Lambert is also the daughter of the late William E. Hughes II.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Vinemont High School and The University of Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed by Decatur General Hospital in emergency nursing and by Cullman Regional Medical Center in cardiovascular services.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James K. Holt of Cullman and the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Hughes of Sylacauga.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Hartselle High School and Auburn University with a bachelor of science degree in business.
He is an alumnus of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is employed by Southeastern Freight Lines in Madison as an operations manager.
He is the grandson of Mildred F. Blizzard of Hartselle, the late J.O. Blizzard, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sims of Moundville.
The beachside wedding will be held Aug. 16 in Orange Beach.
Rigoni, Nelson to wed Sept. 6
Mr. and Mrs. Keith and Terri Rigoni announce the engagement of their daughter, Martina Leane, to Jonathan Marcus, son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Lori Nelson.
The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Hartselle High School. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Martha Baggett and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Patricia Mason.
The groom-elect is a 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School. He currently serves in the United States Coast Guard on cutter Dauntless. He is the grandson of Mr. Larry Metzger, the late Mrs. Helen Metzger, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Colleen Reeves.
The wedding will be held Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ.
