Students earn Athens honors
Several local students were named to the dean's list and honor's list at Athens State University.
Named to the dean's list were: Katie Matthews, Keri Holladay, Joseph Kelsoe, Danville; Andrew Styles, Heather Stiles, Kelley Raper, Eva; Mary Sherrill, Carol Tyler, Phillip Miller, Myra Deese, Debra Swann, Falkville; Kelley Davis, Patty Garrison, Teri Preuitt, Brooke Tankersley, Alison Weinman, Mary McCutcheon, Jennifer Zanda, Jaclynn Smith, April Blaylock, Lindsey McCaghren, Glenda Knighten, Hartselle; and Angela Byrd, Somerville.
Named to the honor's list were: Amanda Kelsoe, Danville; Erin Crawford, Leslie Martin, Eva; Carrie Tyler, Sherry Miller, Matthew Ransom, Falkville; and McKenzie Peek, Leslie West, Amber Dailey, Brooke Reed, Nicholas Ward, Hartselle.
To qualify for the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average between 3.75 and 4.0. Students on the honor's list have a 3.5 to 3.74 grade point average.
Locals among UA graduates
Several local residents were among those recently graduating from The University of Alabama.
Local graduates included: Tony Lynn Johnson, Danville; Richard Keith George and Tiffany Marie Screws, Eva; Sarah Brickenden Adair, Richard Patrick Clemons, Wanda Gail Cox Doss, Jennifer Leigh Halbrooks, Brenda Holloway, Alisha Dawn Lovelady and John Davis Tedford, Hartselle; Kerensa Lynn Halbrooks and April Dawn Maxwell, Somerville; and Robert Ferrell Runge, Falkville.
Hodges among
"Who's Who"
Anna T. Hodges of Hartselle was recently named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" at The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Hodges was one of 32 UAH students receiving the honor.
