Spring fun heats up

By Staff
Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
The weather is getting warmer and more and more activities are planned for the coming months. Best part about them is they are close to home and many are available at little or no charge.
Enjoy!
Old West style events will include bareback riding, saddle bronco riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, calf roping, chuck wagon races and bull riding. Children's activities, including a calf scramble, will also be presented.
There will also be a street dance May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Limestone County Courthouse square.
Admission is charged to the rodeo.
Visitors may view more than 30 species of North American butterflies in every stage of their development – from egg to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to the flying insect. Admission to the garden is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and military, $3 children ages 3-18 and free for garden members and children under age 3.
Summer garden hours for Memorial Day through Labor Day are: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 1-8 p.m.
Admission is free. Hours for the event will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
"Dr. A. Everette James Collection of Paintings by Southern Artists" will be on display May 11-Oct. 12. A workshop "Ceramic Mother's Day Gifts" will be held May 3. General admission to the museum is $8 with group discounts available. Reduced admission of $4 will be charged on Thursdays from 5-8 p.m.
