The Hartselle High School soccer teams struggled a bit against county teams at the Morgan County Soccer Tournament held at Ogle Stadium in Decatur.
Thursday, lightning shortened play, but both the Hartselle boys and girls were able to finish their respective games with Austin.
In the boys game, the score was deadlocked at 0-all before Austin went on a rampage. The Black Bears scored five goals in the final 15 minutes. Three goals came during a two-minute span.
The Hartselle Lady Tigers also were blanked. Austin defeated HHS 3-nil.
Austin jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 11 minutes and never gave Hartselle a chance. Lady Black Bear Brittany Carmack scored the game's first two goals.
Friday, both Hartselle teams were paired up with Brewer.
The Lady Tigers started the day with a 1-0 loss. T.J. Murphree scored the game's only goal for Brewer.
Hartselle had several shots on goal but could not put one past Brewer's keeper.
On the boy's side, Hartselle's Peyton Harris, normally a J.V player, raised some eyebrows by beating Abraham Vallejo and putting a shot in the back of the net.
Mokhtar Hajialilu scored on a free kick late in the contest, giving Hartselle a 2-0 advantage.
Jason Brightwell gave the Patriots new life with a goal nearing the end of regulation, but the Tigers held on for the win.
