Trey Clark will have the best of both world.
On one hand, he will continue to play football, and on the other, he will be getting an education by one of the top colleges in nation.
Clark, a Hartselle High School senior, signed to play football with Rhodes College (Memphis, Tenn.) last week. At Rhodes, an NCAA Division III school, Clark plans to go into Pre-Med.
Clark's resume screams "scholar-athlete."
His talents on the football field are mirrored in the classroom. He holds a 3.58 GPA and is ranked 43rd in his class of 173.
On the field, Clark was named to the All-Region and All-Area team. He made the All-Region team as a defensive back and made the All-Area team as an offensive athlete.
Clark was also nominated for the Mizeman Trophy Award. He was named the Most Outstanding Senior Receiver at the Bobby/Tommy Bowden Academy Camp last summer and is also a member of the HHS track team.
Outside of sports, Clark was named the boys state delegate and elected to Associate Justice to the Supreme Court Place 7 in 2000. He is a National Honor Society member and has been on the A-B honor roll since 2001.
He is in the Physics Club, Latin Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is the SADD vice president and was an ambassador for Red Ribbon Week for drug free programs for elementary, junior high and high schools in Morgan County.
At Rhodes, he could be three different positions – running back, wide receiver or defensive back. He played running back at Hartselle in 2001.
