Funeral for Casey L. McVay, 19, of Lacey's Spring, was Wednesday, April 30, at 3:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Estus Hardin officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Miss McVay died Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born July 13, 1983 in Lawrence County to Jerome Lee McVay and Jennifer Ann Long McVay Schooley. She had just completed book camp with the U.S. Marines and was going into Legal Administration. She was the granddaughter of the late Yvonne Long.
She is survived by her mother, Jennifer Schooley of Lacey's Spring; father, Jerome McVay; step-father, Nick Schooley of Lacey's Spring; one brother, Jeremy McVay of Lacey's Spring' two step-brothers, Jarrod Schooley and Heath Schooley, both of Florence; two sisters, Courtney McVay and Haley Brown, both of Lacey's Spring; grandfather, Winford Long of Decatur; grandmother, Norine Mizell of Danville, Romand McVay of Danville; and step-grandmother, Carolyn Schooley of Lacey's Spring.
Pallbearers were members of the military.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
