Dulcimer group presents event
The Morgan County Dulcimer Association is sponsoring a dulcimer festival May 9-11 at Point Mallard Park in Decatur. Music sessions and beginner lessons on the mountain dulcimer will be presented at Pavilion A and camping is available.
Dulcimers will be available for anyone who wants to take beginning lessons.
A stage performance will be presented May 10 at 1 p.m. at Colonial Mall.
HHS planning beauty walk
The 2003 Hartselle High School Beauty Walk, sponsored by the Les Amies School Sorority, will be held May 4 at 2 p.m. at Hartselle's Sparkman Civic Center. Proceeds from this year's pageant will be donated to area cancer and multiple sclerosis charities. This year's pageant will be emceed by Lee Marshall, morning and noon anchor with NBC's WAFF Ch 48. Dumplin' festival set for this weekend
The Calhoun Community College Foundation is hosting its first Dumplin' Days Festival, April 26 at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Decatur campus. The festival will feature storytelling, music, and children's activity area. There will also be a "Little Miss Dumplin" contest for girls 12 and under, and a "Can You Tell a Whopper" liars contest sponsored by Burger King. For more information, call 256-306-2583.
PACT plans fun day
The PACT Family Fun Day will be held April 26 at Point Mallard Park parking lot between the Aquatic Center and the old ice rink at 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This is an all day event with something for everyone in the family. The feature attractions will be on stage performances throughout the day that include groups from area schools, dance teams, choirs and churches.
There will also be a dunking booth, hair braiding, storytelling, and many other fun events. Many of the activities will be free, with others charging a small fee with the proceeds going to PACT.
