Funeral for R. B. Ryan, 86, of Hartselle was Friday, April 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. WG Henry, Harold Thompson and Greg Alred officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Ryan died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1916, in Morgan County to Arthur Ryan and Octa James Ryan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a retired mechanic. He served as a Master Sergeant in the Army 238th Combat Engineers in World War II, a Veteran of D Day and the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of the American Legion Post 52 for over 50 years. He was the brother of the late Claude Ryan, Carl Ryan, Vernon Roegner and Vivian Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Tuza Ryan of Hartselle; and several nieces and nephews.
