Lady Tigers upset in own tourney

Bree Lee made sure the championship trophy would leave Hartselle and go to Decatur.
Lee's home run off Sabrina Roberts in the fourth inning proved to be the game winning run in a 1-0 Decatur win in the Hartselle Varsity Softball Tournament Saturday.
After a 8-0 win Monday against Austin, the Lady Tigers are 21-9-1.

Sabrina Roberts pitched a masterpiece, making just one mistake that allowed Lee's homer.
Roberts pitched a complete game, giving up the run on four hits, walking two and striking out four.
As a team, Hartselle had just three hits, with Jessica Lyle going 1 for 3 with a double.

Jessica Lyle earned the win, allowing just four hits and striking out three.
Hartselle's Regan Sandlin scored the game-winning run in the fourth inning, as Rachel Carden provided the RBI.

Game 4 (Bracket play)
In a matchup between two of the best softball teams in the state, the Lady Tigers beat Class 6A's third-ranked team 3-2.
Hartselle, number two in Class 4A-5A, scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Alison Lyle provided the fireworks with the game-winning RBI.
Lyle went 2 for 4 with two singles and the RBI, Anna Byrd went 3 for 4 with a run scored, while Jessica Lyle and Ashley Jackson also had hits.
Sabrina Roberts pitched all eight innings, giving up two runs on five hits. She struck out six.

Game 3 (Bracket Play)
Jessica Lyle pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out five to lead Hartselle to a win.
Lyle also went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple while scoring a run.
Jodi Coffey went 2 for 4 with a run scored, Sarah Whitlow went 2 for 4 with a run scored and Robin Halbrooks went 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

Game 2 (Pool Play)
The Lady Tigers squeaked by Lee of Huntsville in the second game of the tournament.
Jessica Lyle's RBI double in the fourth provided the game-winning run.
Sabrina Roberts allowed just four hits and fanned four for the win.
Hartselle 10, Haleyville 2
Game 1 (Pool Play)
J.J. Lawrimore was unhittable – literally.
Lawrimore pitched a complete game, gave up no earned runs, walked two and struck out 12.
Hartselle scored all 10 of its runs in the first three innings, including a six-run third inning.
Robin Halbrooks went 2 for 2 with a triple. She scored two runs and knocked in two more. Lawrimore, Lyle and Regan Sandlin also had hits, with Lawrimore and Sandlin knocking in two runs apiece.

Sabrina Roberts made it look easy Monday.
Roberts pitched a complete game, giving up no runs on two hits, walking one and striking out another.
Roberts was also 2 for 4 at the plate. She scored two runs and knocked in one.
Jodi Coffey and Rachel Carden each had two hits and one RBI apiece, while Alison Lyle went 1 for 2 with an RBI.
