Danville wins tournament at Addison High School

ADDISON – The Danville Lady Hawks' softball team won the Addison Tournament by beating host Addison 17-9 in the championship.
Danville lost just one game throughout the entire tournament.
Danville 9, Holly Pond 2
Kristy Roberts allowed just two hits and struck out eight in the win.
Casey Sparkman had a double, Jessica Wallace had three singles and Emily Templeton had two.
Addison 3, Danville 2
Danville fell to Addison in the two teams' first game of the tournament to set a showdown in the finals.
Kristen Sparkman suffered the loss, giving up six hits and three walks. She struck out seven.
Liz Jones and Brandi LaMar each had two singles, while Kristy Roberts and Emily Long also had base hits.
Danville 11, Good Hope 0
Danville had little trouble beating Good Hope in five innings.
Tonya Howard hurled a one-hit shutout and struck out five for the win.
Kristy Roberts, Emily Templeton and Emily Long each had doubles, while Howard, Casey Sparkman, Long and Kristen Sparkman had two singles each.
Danville 12, Winston Co. 1
Charleston Wilson earned the win, allowing just six hits and three walks.
Kristy Roberts had a triple and Wilson added two singles.
Casey Sparkman, Jessica Wallace, Kristen Sparkman and Haley Hensley each had singles.
Danville 8, Winfield 4
Despite giving up eight walks, Kristen Sparkman still managed to get a win. She allowed three hits and struck out nine.
Emily Long, Emily Templeton and Sparkman each had doubles, while Kristy Roberts managed three singles.
Casey Sparkman, Long, Liz Jones and Charleston Wilson each had two singles apiece.
Danville 17, Addison 9
Doubles by Tonya Howard, Kristy Roberts, Casey Sparkman and Liz Jones sparked an offensive outburst in the championship tilt.
Kristy Roberts struck out eight in the win.
Howard had three singles, while Jessica Wallace and Charleston Wilson had two singles. Casey Sparkman, Jones and Haley Hensley each had singles.
