PES students learn about space
Priceville Elementary students and staff are walking to the moon. Students are recording the number of steps taken each day. Students expect to walk as far as the moon by the end of the project.
Priceville Elementary's Student Council was recently awarded first place in the Can-a-Thon.
Priceville Elementary is now on the air with its own campus radio station, WDTF-Where Dreams Take Flight. It airs at 104.9 and features announcements, weather, and a live morning show hosted by fifth grader Steadman Livingston.
Local students on academic lists
The University of Montevallo recently honored students who were included in the president's list and dean's list for the fall 2002 semester.
Area students earning mention on the president's list were Christopher Collins of Decatur, Jamie South of Hartselle and Jessica Thompson of Town Creek.
Local students earning mention on the dean's list were Julie Doyle of Lacey's Spring, Carla Holloway of Hartselle, Heatherly Morris of Somerville and Abby Smith of Decatur.
Full-time students who earn at least a 3.8 grade-point average during a semester are placed on the president's list for that term. Those who earn between a 3.5 and 3.79 GPA are placed on the dean's list for that term.
