Dr. Roland W. King

Funeral for Dr. Roland W. King, 82, of Hartselle was Monday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Dr. King died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Reeltown, he received a BS degree at Auburn University and received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University. He was a member of the Rotary Club and a former board member of Hartselle Airport Authority. Dr. King came to Hartselle to practice dentistry in 1948 and practiced over 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was stationed at Paris Island. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was the widower of Jean Milam Freeman King.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathy Bell of Germantown, Tenn. and Vickie Johnson of Ohatchee; one sister, Katherine King Croley of Birmingham; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Tommy Compton, Ed Summers, James Taylor, Dr. Bob Sittason, Dr. James Joy and Dr. Max Merrill.
