American Legion receives donation from Wal-Mart

The American Legion Post 52 received an early holiday gift from the associates and customers of the Hartselle Wal-Mart when store manager Angie Bray presented Commander John Paul Johnson with a check for $1,800 through the Wal-Mart Good Works Holiday Program.
Wal-Mart stores nationwide held a promotion Dec. 7 to donate a percentage of store sales to charities in their local communities. This marks the 12th holiday season that Wal-Mart stores across the country are assisting charities within their local communities.
This year, the Hartselle store associates selected Post 52 as the beneficiary of their annual holiday fundraiser because of the positive impact the organization has on the local community. The donation will benefit the Legion's Kid's Day program.
"This is a season of giving and, thanks to the support of our customers, we are proud to give the American Legion Post 52 financial support to continue the great work they do in our community," Bray said. "This program is just another way that our associates are able to give back to the communities in which we live."
