Decision time is drawing near for Brett Byford.
The Hartselle offensive lineman has entertained offers from schools across the country.
The head coach from one of those schools happened to be in Hartselle Monday.
Frank Solich, the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, flew in for another face-to-face meeting with Byford. Solich and Byford met prior to the 2002 football season.
In a past issue of The Hartselle Enquirer, Byford's father, Joe Byford, said his son was a "Nebraska-lean."
Not much has changed since October.
Though Byford has traveled to several schools, including South Carolina and Georgia Tech, among others, Solich and Nebraska have always been at the top of the list.
The 6-4, 280 pound guard still has not committed to play anywhere as of Tuesday morning, but that decision is drawing near, Brett Byford said.
This past season, Solich and Nebraska finished with an uncharacteristic 7-6 record. However, the Cornhuskers accepted an invitation to the Independence Bowl against Ole Miss December 27th.
It will mark the 34th consecutive bowl game for Nebraska.
