Paul C. Strong

Graveside service for Paul C. Strong, 82, of Hartselle was Saturday, October 5, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Revs. WG Henry and Harold Thompson officiating.
Mr. Strong died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla. A native of Ellaville, Ga., he was the widower of Lois Grisham Lott Strong and brother of the late John Judson Strong and Alton Tolliver Strong.
He was a veteran who served as a staff sergeant in the Army AirCorp from 1941 to 1946 where he was an airplane and engine mechanic and airplane inspector. He earned the American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He operated Strong's Nursery and Greenhouse in Orlando and worked as an airplane mechanic inspector for Lockheed in Ohio. He retired in 1985 after working 27 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a graduate of Winter Park High School in Florida.
Mr. Strong was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle and a member of the men's Sunday school class and American Legion.
He is survived by one son Hallie "Ranny" Lott of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Marie L. Suski of Hatton; one sister, Emma Ruth Yunk of Orlando, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
