Funeral for John Bruce Stringer, 83, of Hartselle was Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Joe Nuss and Mike Eaton officiating.
Burial was in Flint Creek Cemetery in Vinemont.
Mr. Stringer died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Decatur General Hospital. A native of Morgan County, he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 and was a bus driver for the Morgan County Board of Education from 1941 to 1942. The retired carpenter attended Athens College.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Gay Stringer of Hartselle; one son, Rickie Dale Stringer of Hartselle; one daughter, Sandra Stringer Holmes of Falkville; two brothers, Dewitt Stringer of Tuscaloosa and Boyd Stringer of Falkville; two sisters, Fleda Monk of Hartselle and Reba Linthicum of Ariz.; two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Pallbearers were pallbearers.
