9-10 year-olds get season

The 9-10 year-old boys got their baseball season under way with the whole slate fighting to rise to the top.
A four-run third-inning performance provided the margin of victory for the Bulls.
Logan Cain took the win for the Bulls, striking out seven and allowing no hits. He walked five.
Will Tiffin got the pitching loss in three innings. He was followed on the mound by Sam Fleishman and Will Lang.

The Reds struck for seven runs in the first two innings and iced the game with five in the sixth.
Matt Johnston struck out six and gave up four hits in getting the win for the Reds. Will Swann took the loss in six innings, striking out 11, but walking 10. Hunter McCaghren got the close.

The Indians skinned the Tigers early with four runs in the first, three in the second and two in the third. The Tigers tried to claw their way back into the game with a three-run rally in the fourth.
Jared Johnson took the pitching win in two innings. Robby Reece and Ryan Joy followed Johnson in relief.
Ben Teichmiller took the loss in four innings. He struck out five, but walked nine.

The Reds stayed undefeated with a five-run response to a game-tying run by the Jays.
Jake Kimbrell got the pitching win with 10 strikeouts against one hit and one walk. Daniel Wilhite was saddled with the loss in four innings. He struck out seven. Chase Fowler provided two innings of relief.

The White Sox shutout the Braves and made a run-away of the game with seven runs in the fourth inning.
Seth Wiley was the winning pitcher for the Sox. He struck out seven, walked four and gave up only one hit.
Will Lane took the loss in three innings. Sam Fleishman and Zac Marsh provided relief.

The Giants overcame a five-run first inning by the Red Sox with three first-inning runs of their own, paired with a lone run in the fourth and a second trio in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Ethan Rose was the Giants' winning pitcher, holding the mound for the complete game. John Roberts took the loss in four innings on the mound. Hunter McAbee was the Soxs' starting pitcher. Hunter McCaghren got the close for the Red Sox.

The Reds buried the Tigers with nine runs in the first two innings and capped their scoring before the Tigers got on the board to avoid the shutout.

The Indians were on the warpath early as they plated 11 runs in the first three innings. The Braves put pairs across in three middle innings and added one in the fifth.
Ryan Joy picked up the pitching win in three innings. He allowed no hits while striking out six. Corey Holladay and Michael McMurray provided the relief.
Sam Fleishman took the loss. He walked seven and gave up only one hit. Will Lang went four innings of relief striking out six, but couldn't salvage the game.

Chase Fowler struck out 13 Bulls while walking none and giving up only three hits in a complete game.

The White Sox pulled out a nail-biter that went to extra innings with a lone run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
An eight-run second propelled the Sox into an early lead, but the Giants tied the score by the top of the fourth inning.
Tyler Bennett got the win for the Sox in six innings of relief for Jackson Reeves. Bennett struck out eight and yielded only five hits.
Chance Partlow was tagged with the loss after releaving Ethan Rose. Rose fanned 14 batters in six innings on the mound after replacing Hunter McCaghren who replaced starter Will Swann.

The Tigers waxed the Bulls for five runs in both the first and second innings. They added eight in the third to shorten the game despite comeback efforts by the Bulls.
Jake Wallace got the pitching win without relief.
David Ferguson took the loss in one inning. Trevor Knight pitched three in relief of Ferguson, with Jake Hartsell finishing for the Bulls.
