Legion ball tryouts and registration set

Registration and tryouts for Hartselle's John F. Thompson American Legion Post 52 air corps of baseball teams are set for May 2 and May 20.
The post will sponsor at least one senior team and two junior teams.
Response will determine the possibility of a second senior team. All eligible players in Morgan County are welcomed and encouraged to register.
The Legion squads will play a 24 to 28 game schedule with at least two tournaments during their summer season.
The senior team is open to players ages 16 to 18. The first junior team is for players ages 15 to 17 and the second junior team will be for players ages 14 to 16.
Registration will be held Thursday, May 2 at the Legion Hall on North Sparkman Street in Hartselle from 3 to 7 p.m.
Registration fees are $50, due at sign-up. Players must bring an original birth certificate or certified copy to place on file with the state department of the American Legion.
Position tryouts will be Monday, May 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Reuben Sims Field in Sparkman Park in Hartselle.
